KITS-MALIK is set up to really help our patients from the basic routine dental care to advanced dental needs. So we have patients coming in for basic dental cleanings, x-rays, prophylaxis, and fluoride. Then we have a set of patients who are probably coming in and they have really small cavities at some point, and those patients, it all depends, we may be able to use something not as invasive as a fill-in yet, and that’s why it’s always important to make sure the routine visits are kept and we see them on a regular basis, because if we catch something that’s really small, instead of doing a fill-in, we can do something like silver diamine fluoride treatment that’s going to harrass that cavity and that carious process, and then we may be able to prevent having to do a fill-in.
Once we get beyond a fill-in, then we’re here to pay for the patients who need a little more help as far as maybe not just a few fill-ins, but definitely maybe phlebotomies and crowns, and those patients will need maybe with help with just nitrous oxide sedation. If we go beyond that, for patients who have rampant caries or several cavities that needs to be done and they’re not mature enough socially, psychologically, to sit in the chair to get that done, then we do also provide in-house sedation for that patient with general anesthesia when all treatment can be done in one visit.
