So I’ve been coming here for about 17 years by now, so basically my entire life at this point. So it’s kind of crazy, kind of sweet to think about, nostalgic this place. First and foremost, the staff is really friendly.
I think talking to friends my age is like, growing up the stigma is that people are afraid of the dentist. For me, that was not the experience at all. I would come here and like look forward to coming here because Dr. Dawn here at Kids Smile, everybody’s just so friendly, welcoming.
This place feels very nostalgic because of that, and I’ve always loved it here. Dr. Dawn’s personality is very, very friendly. She is very energetic, enthusiastic, one of the bubbliest people I know.
She’s very like a second mom growing up, I think, like always sitting in her chair. She’d make jokes, she’d make me feel very at home, and I never really felt like a doctor. A doctor kind of has sometimes a detached sense and people are afraid of them, but she was very connected in our lives.
She would ask how things are going outside, and I just loved her as a kid growing up. The quality of care has been exceptional. I think both Dr. Dawn, the receptionists, everybody here has been very open, very welcoming, very friendly.
They’ve been always focused on me and the patients themselves, and it’s really felt very natural, very relaxed environment here, so I really appreciate the quality of care. I think we build a sort of family here. Myself and my siblings have all come here, so we have that shared experience, and I think that Dr. Dawn and Kids Smile is for a family.
It’s not really just a traditional dentist like a lot of people go to.

I’ve been coming here to Kids Smile and Dr. Dawn for almost 18 years. My oldest son is 18 and, you know, all the kids to follow. Just a great service here, flexible hours.
Even when she didn’t take my insurance, they always made a way for just to accommodate my kids because we didn’t want to change providers. Dr. Dawn is family. Kids Smile is family.
I mean, I have stories just with the flexibility of hours, weekends, evening, accommodating us. We’re late coming from school, traffic, the whole nine. You just, you need to have a provider that makes you feel like, you know, your VIP, your priority.
And I think that Kids Smile and Dr. Dawn makes everybody feel like, you know, they’re number one. They’re the best patient and you want to feel like that, even though you know you’ve got over 200 plus patients. She’s patient, especially like, I remember with my oldest son, we had to kind of do the sedation to get, you know, his teeth cleaned and some other things with a little bit of phobia that he had.
And she just kind of worked through that. You know, now he’s almost 18 years old. He sits here like a big man child with no issues.
So I think that’s, you know, even with my two-year-old, I mean, just being patient with her, she didn’t even want to open her mouth. So I just think just taking the time, coming back, you know, reassuring, you know, the parents and, you know, the patients, everything’s going to be okay. And, you know, just building that bond and that trust.
I would recommend Kids Smile. Dr. Dawn is top tier. I mean, look at her resume, her background, I mean, where she studied, her collegiate accolades, everything.
Can’t go wrong. She’s been in practice for over 20, almost, probably, definitely over 25 years in practice. Same office, you know, same staff.
That has a lot to be said. You know, people want continuity of care. You know, you want to feel like, you know, when they come into a place, you know, they’re recognizable.
They know the people, you know, the kids are, you know, feel at home when they come here. You know, they start from the time they’re one years old, getting their teeth cleaned to now transitioning, like my 18-year-old, we just transitioned him, we had to divorce and we just transitioned him to, you know, not a pediatric dentist. That was tough, you know.
She also has, you know, worked on me before I found me an adult dentist, you know. So she’s adults if needed, you know, for the adults that have the phobia and the anxiety, you know.

I mean, I like coming to Kitzma with everyone here. It’s wonderful, from the staff to the back, to Dr. Dawn. You don’t go to a lot of places where you actually see the doctor every visit.
I hate to say that, but she’s there at every visit. She’ll check. I have three kids.
She’ll check everyone after every one. You see her every time, and she remembers everything about them. I mean, she’s always pleasant.
She’s always smiling. She’s always laughing. I’m not kidding when I say she remembers everything, because my oldest one is now 19.
When he turned 18, I thought, oh, she’s going to throw us out. She said, you can come as long as you want. And they are very comfortable here.
I don’t know. We’ve been here so long. She just feels like six months passes for the next checkup, and it’s like, hello.
They remember everything. They just don’t forget. When we tell her something one visit, Dr. Dawn remembers the next visit.
When now my kids are older, one is in college, the other is applying. She’s probably as excited as my parents about, where are you going? What school are you applying to? Great. She’s like a great cheerleader for us.
She’s very comfortable here. None of them were ever those kids that didn’t want to come. Who’s ever really comfortable at the dentist? As much as you can be, they are.
I sent my own family members here. My nephews come here because I told them to come here. And I mean, my nephew actually had an issue.
He fell, and Dr. Dawn saw him right away, told him where to go, what to do. And they still come here too. So I would tell anybody to come here.
Not just for the movies.

I feel really nice here. I feel like that this might be the best place I’ve ever been to. Dr. Dawn is like, she really like loves me here and also she always comes to check on me and she says how my sister is doing.
She reminds me of my grandma. She tells me to brush my teeth for a reason because there will not be no problems in my teeth. I feel really good.
I feel really good for the whole team. I just like that they’re just really into things and they’re actually like focused and just how it’s supposed to be. I like when they um clean my teeth to make them really good and shiny.
I also make sure I’m brushing my teeth right, I don’t have no cavities. Well, I like how that I brush my teeth every single night. I like how they’re really into all the helping my kids by doing all the fanning and fun stuff.
Also, I like how they give kids toys here. That’s really nice. That’s the way I like this place.

The experience was back in eighth grade, so I think seven or so years ago. It was during a basketball game, I was jumping up for a rebound, came down and the guy’s elbow went straight into my face, snapped a tooth in half. First, I didn’t even realize it, but like two minutes later, sharp pain.
So I look at my friend, he’s like, you’re missing a tooth. So I’m kind of shocked, the pain sort of starts kicking in. So I’m sitting there crying.
My mom’s next to me, she’s panicked. She’s calling like a bunch of different doctors, surgeons in the local area to see if is anybody open. It was like six o’clock, seven o’clock.
They’re all basically closed. So we’re about to close. She calls Dr. Dawn as like a last resort.
It is a bit further, like 30 minutes, 40 minutes from the school, but she called just to see. Dr. Dawn was about to pack up, but she heard the situation, unpacked everything, stayed here for like 20 minutes to wait for us to come here. Um, sat me down, looked at everything, no hesitations, fixed everything up.
And then it was such a smooth process. Like I didn’t even, my mom was the most stressful. I was kind of like sitting there, whatever.
But looking back, it was such a smooth experience. And I couldn’t have asked for a better dentist to take care of my teeth. Even after the fact, like checking up the months after, it was unbelievable how supportive Dr. Dawn was throughout the whole process.
Eventually she had to do a root canal too. Like she is incredibly talented as a dentist, first of all, but also very supportive and very kind. So that whole experience would have been, I think, more traumatic as a kid.
But because of Dr. Dawn, Kid Smile, how everyone here handled it, it was honestly just kind of a fond memory. Let me be honest, a basketball game. We, I think we won, but I was the next to get, but it was a, it was a good experience overall.

My oldest one, he developed tooth decay early from like by the time I bought him at age one he had already had a level of tooth decay so he just needed some extensive treatment is why I think he had gotten the anxiety from just young and then also then later throughout that treatment we had found out that he just had teeth that weren’t gonna grow in, like four like adult teeth that just was not in the gums so he needed like extensive treatment, two sets of braces and just like the referral to get that done and come here and everything else it’s just you know just the patience with that you know and it was you know pretty costly you know thank goodness for good insurance but being on top of that and I had said you know the best thing I could do in life is to send my kid out here in life with a good set of teeth you know not anything after that you know your mama took care of the teeth it was straight clean and white now anything else is on you. So now he is on his second set of braces and he once he finished this set of braces he’s probably gonna get like a retainer that’s like a more permanent retainer because when he finished the last set of braces he had some shifting done and the shifting was primarily because of the teeth that you know it’s missing genetic wise they’re not gonna go in so after this round of braces he’s probably gonna have like some permanent retainers to just to help you know keep his teeth braids but now he’s not gonna need any implants that’s what we were afraid of that we weren’t going to be able to position his teeth in a way where he wasn’t gonna be able to do implants so Dr. Dawn and Kids Now you know they have been a part of our lives for almost 18 years I feel like you know this practice is family I wish nothing but the best for Dr. Dawn and her incoming new patients you know I have another 18 years to go with her you know because my youngest child is only two so I will be here and just anyone that wants you know a provider and Kids Now is the place they provide service that is loving caring they really truly care about you know your kids and your smile and in teaching them how to you know prevention of cavities and just to go day to day so
